Nu Skin closes $11.7M purchase of LifeGen




PROVO, Utah (AP) -- Nu Skin Enterprises Inc., which sells anti-aging skin-care products and nutritional supplements, said Wednesday it has closed its $11.7 million acquisition of LifeGen Technologies LLC.
Nu Skin, based in Provo, Utah, said it will gain patents and other intellectual property related to anti-aging gene research and LifeGen's proprietary tissue bank and gene expression database. It also started new research contracts and consulting agreements with LifeGen co-founders Richard Weindruch and Tomas Prolla.
LifeGen is a genomics company based in Madison, Wis. NuSkin started a scientific collaboration with LifeGen in 2009.
